DENR - Campground Hosts
South Australia's National Parks are an incredible State asset and one that's touched the hearts and minds of just about every South Australian. We've been in the business here at Adventure 4WD of lending our knowledge and expertise in showing people the safest way to access those parks via 4WD and now we're lending a hand to one of DENR's "Friends of the Parks" groups, the Campground Hosts. The volunteers who man and wo-man the many National Parks campgrounds typically in school holidays deserve a big vote of thanks. As a visitor its very reassuring to have someone on the ground who can assist with advice and help if trouble strikes. We'll be lending 4WD driver training assistance to those great volunteers who one day might help you out. Next time you're at a campground with a host, make sure you say G'day and thanks for the great work they do!
Footing It For Flinders
Nearly everyone has at some stage of their life either been directly affected or seen a loved one or friend suffer cancer in one of its many forms. Footing It For Flinders is a great fund-raising initiative to help research into cancer so that one day it'll be consigned to the scrapbook of history. 20 intrepid souls are going to be walking the length of The Great Ocean Road in November to help raise $100,000! We wish them well... and not too many blisters!
We've been lending Bicycle SA some material support in recent times to assist them with their great touring programs. A top way to keep fit and see mother-nature close up, with a great bunch of people sharing a similar interest. The Museum's recent "Out of the Glass Case" touring roadshow in the State's far-northern APY Lands was an opportunity for indigenous kids to get a scientific insight to things in their own backyard. My own children have had a keen fascination with the natural world so we were more than willing to help the Museum with the great educational work they do. If you're looking for a good day out, a visit to the Museum on North Terrace is pretty cool! Visit the website, link below...
