Introduction

Adventure 4WD is South Australian owned by David and Rose Wilson, committed to providing the best experiences and the best advice for 4WD travel in Australia, as well as developing new regions for exploration and discovery. Throughout this website are illustrations that will help you along your way, whether you're new to four-wheeling or an "old hand". The best way to get started is to undertake a training/touring course, where you'll learn skills that would normally take years of trial, and a lot of error, to accumulate. With the fundamentals in place and the car kitted out correctly, touring the Australian continent becomes a breeze!

Joining one of our Tag-Along (self-drive) Adventure Treks gives you an opportunity not only to advance your skills further, but also see some country that you might miss on your own. The camaraderie of travelling with a group, the interpretation offered by our guides and the scenery you'll witness, is something that will stay with you for a long, long time.

The Great 4WD Journeys Of The Flinders Ranges

We are very proud to have lent support to this fantastic private trail initiative in the north of our State, around the old copper town of Blinman. The ?Great Journeys? offer some of the best self-drive 4WD tracks in the whole of the country, journeys which we often use on our tag-along programs and other special events ? see the calendar for details.

We've also spent a considerable amount of time and energy promoting safe and sensible 4WD touring through our 13-part television series "Beyond The Bitumen". A massive project that was the culmination of some years work, "Beyond The Bitumen" illustrated the latest 4WD accessories, the safest techniques and fantastic destinations across South Australia and the Northern Territory.

We've continued our presence in television with the informative seasonal motoring show "Motovision" seen on Channel 9 in Adelaide. David hosts the show with co-presenter Karen Prater in this half-hour of news and reviews of anything on wheels and water! David's a natural for this type of program and it shows in his confident and credible delivery of tests on vehicles as diverse as the Mercedes Benz GL 4WD wagon to the pocket-rocket Mazda 3 MPS! Watch out for "Motovision" in the coming months on a television screen near you!

To make your future 4WD touring an inexpensive proposition, why not take advantage of our hire equipment service, including fridges, recovery tools, camping gear and radio communications. With a huge range of equipment to choose from, you'll save yourself the expense of buying costly items and it'll make your holiday a happier and safer one!

Finally, we invite you to contribute your opinion of our website in our Guestbook or perhaps you may wish to share a few words and a picture of a recent 4WD trek you've undertaken. We'd love to share your experience with other visitors to this site.
